Hi Philip,

Sorry for the delay in posting a reply, I’ve been busy but thinking about it I’m not sure what at!

In answer to your question “was the move to Sardinia the right choice”? Definitely YES.
We are still here and enjoying the lifestyle as much now, or more, than we could have imagined. In fact we are at present in the process of trying to move to a larger single property rather than having the two apartments. Although the rental income from one of the apartments has been good, after three or four years we fancy a change.

You do right by coming out in May, the temperature is perfect for touring. We are situated just south of Olbia and having seen most of the island ourselves still think this area is the best, not just for holidays but to live all year round as we do. You will probably come to the same conclusion after your visit.

If you would like any further info etc just place a posting here and this time I promise to reply promptly.

feudalism in Sardinia ended at the end of 18th century, after that the patriot Juanne Maria Angioy organised in the 1794 the so called Sardinian revolution, fighting and forcing to leave the island the Piedmontese, for almost 1 year. Gramsci and Berlinguer lived in 20th century, so i don’t know which contribution they have given for defeating the feudalism .

in Sardinia the latifundias never existed, existed the feudalist (exept in the 7 royal towns of sassari, castelsardo, alghero, bosa, oristano, iglesias and cagliari), not the landlords, in the island there were the community lands, the Comunas in sardinian language, the concept of private property arrived around 1820.

by the way Sardinia’s main source of income is the tertiary, tourism, services and exportation of chemical products and refined oil, not agriculture

Sara Sardegna could have Tiscali internet company but the connection around the island sucks! i am italian, i love Sardinia but the internet connection simply sucks. so don’t get pissy because it’s true.

i’m very tired to read your non sense posts!
sardinia is the region where was developed the first italian website by the CRS4, where was invented the web mail in 1994 by Francesco Manunza, the second italian region with the most number of Top-level domain registered in italy after Tuscany according the CNR (”Italian National Research Council”), the place where was born the first italian UMTS (Andala UMTS), the place where is located one of the most important italian internet service provider (do you know tiscali??), the place in italy where for the once are testing the wimax, one of the most important economic resources of sardinia is the information technology!!!!!!!!!!!!

Internet is spread all over in Sardinia, only few little villages today aren’t reached by broadband, but logically dial up, UMTS and GPRS is everywhere present,
not only in Sardinia even some beaches are covered by wireless internet as in Baja Sardinia!!!

2-Sardinian language was influenced by the Arab??? can you find only one sardinian word that come from Arab???

the bell tower depicted is a typical example of Catalan Gothic, the facade instead is neoclassical!!!!
